This a a hand loomed wool cushion cover bearing the ancient Triskele symbol which dates back to neolithic times. It is said to be a sacred symbol and one of the oldest on earth. The Triskele is claimed to be of Celtic origin and gained popularity within Celtic culture from 500 BC onwards. This is reflected in an engraving at the entrance of one of the most famous ancient sites in Ireland, the 5,000-year-old Newgrange Passage Tomb in the Boyne Valley.
Our hand-embroidered pieces come with all the small unevenness and variations in colour, texture, size and finish that are the embodiment of handmade textiles. These items will not display the perfect uniformity of factory mass-production and variations from one piece to the next as well as small imperfections are not faults.
